Does
Your Church reflect the community it serves?
For
too long, the Sunday morning worship hour has been the most
segregated hour in America. In recent year, efforts have been
made to change all that. There is a trend toward racial reconciliation
and true brotherhood within the Body of Christ. As the communities
around them grow more culturally diverse, churches are opening
their doors to those who do not share their language and customs.
These efforts are well-intentioned and represent a definite
step in the right direction. However, they often result in
disappointment, division and resentment. Congregations wind
up worse off than they started, convinced that cross-cultural
outreach simply doesn't work.
Why? Typically, it's not for the lack of desire. Churches
unknowingly repeat the mistakes of others and lose valuable
time and momentum playing "catch-up" and searching
for solutions. Unfortunately, there are very few models and
methodologies available to churches desiring to offer viable
ministry within an ethnically-diverse community while remaining
relevant to its existing members.
Multi
Cultural Ministry is designed to fill that void. Our work is the result of a comprehensive
study of 28 major denominations within the greater Los Angeles area. We analyzed
the impact of changing demographics upon these churches and reviewed the measures
they took to minister to ethnics. This research led to the development of a multifaceted
program which has been successfully implemented by numerous congregations. Our
strategy is designed to foster understanding, clarify responsibilities, motivate
ministry and pre-empt problems. MCM would be delighted to come along side your
church and help navigate your way around the roadblocks that have stopped so many
others in their tracks. The result will be a specific plan of action tailored
to meet your unique needs. Thanks for stopping by our website and please take
a look around. We look forward to interacting with you. For more information please
